Abstract
862,079. Delivery stopping apparatus for doubling &c. machines. ALLGAUER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. April 14, 1959, No. 12626/59. Class 120(2) A device for stopping the top delivery roller 1 of a doubling &c. frame comprises a support lever 4, a second lever 5 pivoted in a casing 20 and forming with the first lever an elbow joint, a spring 7 bearing on the elbow joint, and a drop wire 8, which normally holds the levers in an inoperative position but moves upon thread breakage so that the lever 4 is displaced to lift the top roller 1 and to grip the thread. The spring 7 bears on a point 27 of the elbow joint so chosen that only a slight rotational force is applied to the lever 5 which is normally held against this force by the engagement of an arm 10 with the pivot shaft 11 of the drop wire 8. When the drop wire 8 falls a cut or notch in the shaft 11 releases the arm 16, which may be a leaf spring. The effective rotational force of the spring 7 increases as the lever straightens out and is sufficient to raise the roller 1. The thread is gripped between the lever 4 and roller 1 and a lip 9 contacts the lower roller 3 to prevent the thread wrapping round it. The device is reset by means of a hand lever 5. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown), the thread passes round the upper roller only.
