Abstract

748,238. Stop motion. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd. Sept. 29, 1954 [Nov. 5, 1953], No. 30596/53. Class 120 (2). In a stop mechanism for a textile drawing or like machine having a pair of rollers through which sliver passes, a cranked detector member 10 is located beneath the drafting zone 8, the member 10 having two arms 11 and 12 substantially at right-angles, the arm 11 co-operating with the sliver passing through the zone 8 while the other 12 bears a contact 13 co-operating with a bus-bar 14 fixed to the machine, the member 10 being so pivoted that it is maintained in a normal position so long as sliver 1 is continuous but tilts to a position to open or close a stop circuit when the sliver breaks. A baffle plate 16 may be provided to protect the member 10 from dust &c.
