Abstract

847,716. Stop motion for textile spinning machines. RIETER & CIE A. G., J. J. May 14 1958 [May 28, 1957], No. 15496/58. Class 120(2). In a spinning machine, roving is condensed in a tiltable funnel and resilient means are provided between the funnel and a stationary part of the machine which resists tilting of the funnel and tends to keep open an electric contact as long as the roving flows normally through the funnel; when the roving blocks the funnel, the latter is tilted to cause the resilient means to close the contact and energize a solenoid to cut out the driving-motor. The resilient means takes the form of a split frusto-conical washer 13 with a depending contact 14. When the funnel 9 tilts, the contact engages one, 5, of the calender rollers to complete, through the washer and the machine-cover 12, the circuit to a solenoid 16 to open a switch S to cut out the motor M.
