Abstract

861,144. Systems of storage. INGOLD, H. Oct. 30, 1958 [Dec. 5, 1957; Feb. 14, 1958], No. 34809/58. Class 20(1) Wheeled storage cupboards 10 are mounted side by side on rails 18 so that they can be rolled apart to form a passage, the rails 18 'being mounted on inverted channel girders 21 supported on the floor 25 by wedges 26, 27 which can be used to adjust the level of the rails. Four flanged wheels 56 or rollers are provided on each cupboard 10, separation of the wheels from the rails being prevented by mutually engaging brackets 59, 60 attached respectively to the cupboards and girders. A rod 61 operated from a lever on the cupboards 10 engages in recesses in the brackets to lock the cupboards. Adjustment of a screw 30 moves the wedge 26 laterally of the girder over the sloping surface of the lower wedge 27. Movement of the wedges longitudinally of the girders is prevented by plates (not shown) secured to the girders. The wedge 27 has projections 34 which abut inturned flanges 22 of the girder 21 to prevent its loss when the girder 21 is raised from the floor. The girders 21 are joined by end pieces 23 and a cover plate (not shown). The end cupboards 10 have sides 12.
