909,033. Racks. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO. Ltd., and KENNEY, E. C. Feb. 4, 1959 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 3841/58. Class 52 (3). A rack for supporting shoes or shoe parts between manufacturing operations has two identical tubular frame members 2, 4 on which are supported work trays 6, 8, 10 each consisting of two wall members 12, 14 and a bottom 16 clamped to the frame members by means of clamp plates 28 with lips to fit under the vertical edge portions and inner clamp plates 30, consisting of U-shaped metal strips, connected by clamp screws 34 and nuts 32. The wedging action of conical nuts 32 forces the vertical arms apart until they are trapped between the nuts and the flanges on clamp plates 30. This clamping arrangement allows the trays to be clamped at any desired height. Castors 38 facilitate movement of the rack.
