999,089. Tables; furniture joints. EERSTE WADDINGSCREENSCHE STOOMMEUBELFABRIEK V/H VAN SHAIK & BERGHUIS N.V. May 6, 1964 [May 7, 1963], No. 18781/64. Headings A4H and A4W. A laboratory table comprises a top 10 mounted on spaced metal H-frames 1 of box section, wherein transverse channels 11 or 28 secured to the underside of the top 10 carry lugs 12 which engage in the open upper ends of the H-frame legs 6 to be locked by screws 13 and the H- frames 1 are interconnected by tubes 2 each having at one end anembedded stud 3 and at the opposite end a nut 3, the arrangement being such that the studs 3 extend through apertures in the cross-bar 5 of the H-frame 1 to engage nuts 4 of aligned tubes 2 or, in the case of end H-frames 1, separate studs 8 and nuts 9 engage the tube nuts 4 and studs 3. A cupboard 19 or shelves may be carried between adjacent frames 1 by bolts passed through apertures 20 in the frame legs 6 and a drawer may be provided between the cupboard 19 and the table top 10. Feet 21 are adjustably threaded 22 into the legs 6 to vary the height of the table. A strip member 24 carrying accessories 25 and supporting conduits 26 may be provided at the rear of the table top 10, as shown in Fig. 3, or between a pair of table tops (Fig. 4, not shown).
