1353198 Rail systems TOIJALAN TERASVALMISTE VELJ VIRTANEN 30 June 1971 [2 July 1970] 30644/71 Heading B7L [Also in Division El] In a rail-type supporting and transporting system for a pair of generally parallel mould partition plates or support walls 1, for battery moulds used in vertical casting of concrete structures, each plate or wall 1 is supported by a respective pair of wheeled structures of which each structure is associated with a respective one of two rails 2, Figs. 2 and 3, each rail 2 providing two parallel spaced apart tracks extending transversely to the planes of the plates 1, and the corresponding wheeled structures of each pair have their wheels 5 carried by each rail 2 so disposed that the two structures can overlap one another, thus allowing the two plates 1 to be brought adjacent to one another. Each structure has two wheels 5 spaced apart in the direction of movement and, in Figs. 2 and 3, the corresponding wheeled structures of each pair are carried in different tracks of a respective rail 2, whereas in Fig. 4 each structure is carried in both tracks of the associated rail 2a. As shown, the structures carry pinions 4 which are driven by engagement with racks 3 carried by the rails, or alternatively the drive means may comprise a chain wheel engaging a chain located on the upper surface of a rail, Fig. 10 (not shown). The rails may be I-beams or other shapes such as a box-like structure 20, Fig. 17, open on the upper surface to allow the wheels to travel inside the box 20. To prevent sideways movement, guide rollers 18, 18a may be used running against the inside or outside of the box rail 20, or wheel flanges co-operating with the rails, or a device 16, Fig. 3.
