Class 20(4) False ceilings are supported by lamellashaped holding elements standing perpendicularto the plane of the sheets, the lamella being supported freely movable in their longitudinal, direction on longitudinal girders and/or being attached to the girders by means of tension springs In Fig. 1 lamellae 13 extending in vertical planes attached under tension by tension springs 11, 12 to girders 10a, 10b secured to the walls of a room, carry bidging members 15 having slots which receive the lamellae. Insulating sheets 17a, 47b are secured to the under surfaces of the bridging members 15 which may be flush with or may project below, the bottom edges of the lamellae. In an alternative-construction for supporting the lamella from a girder secured to the wall of the room, the girder may have a rail 20, Fig. 2 which is slotted to receive the lamellae tensioning springs 21 being provided between the girder and the upper region of the lamella. In a further modification the girder secured to the wall may be provided with riders 26, Fig. 3a, having a vertical part slotted to receive a lamella. The insulating sheets 17a, 17b may be secured to the under surfaces of the bridging members 15 by adhesive or may be secured !to the under surface of the bridging members 15 or lamellae 13- by-means of permanent or electric magnets, e.g. a series of magnetic plates secured to the sheets bridging members or lamellae and further magnetic plates or unmagnetised ferromagnetic plates secured to corresponding parts of the sheets, bridging members or lamellae to cooperate with the said series of magnetic plates. The bridging members 15 may extend normally or diagonally with respect to the lamellae and can engage the lamella at selected heights to compensate for sag of the lamella.
