Class 20(1) The side walls of a wooden house comprise horizontal tongue and groove boards 1 which can move vertically on their vertical support posts 2 whereby the weight of the roof resting on the topmost board 1 keeps weather-tight the joints of all the boards. The uprights 2 are provided with slots 4, Fig. 3, in which the securing screws 3 can move up or down, and are held in place by washers 5. In Fig. 5 the roof rests on a beam 3<SP>1</SP> across the top of the posts 6<SP>1</SP> so that clearance at the bottom of the posts 6<SP>1</SP> allows them to move down between a pair of short support posts 5<SP>1</SP>, which movement keeps the joints of the wall boards 1<SP>1</SP> together.
