[Also in Group XXV] The lid b of a box or container a has a hinge comprising a first plate d having two studs d2, d3 which slidingly co-operate respectively with a straight slot c<SP>3</SP> and an arcutae slot c<SP>4</SP> in a second plate c, the co-operation being maintained by lugs e2, e<SP>3</SP> on a third plate e located in the interior of the container by means of a lug e<SP>1</SP> and fastening pins which engage apertures e<SP>4</SP> in the plate e. The plate e, and the plate c which is attached to the container by parts c<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>2</SP>, are located within the wall of the container, and the plate d which is attached to the lid is shaped so that when the lid is open its rear edge b2 is dropped considerably below the top edge a<SP>1</SP> of the container and it is held in an upright position. The plates c, d may be made of nylon and the plate e of metal.
