Abstract

1,045,947. Boxes. PUSH BUTTON CONTAINER CORPORATION. March 8, 1965, No. 9756/65. Heading B8P. A box for powder &c. comprises a body 10, Fig. 2 (not shown), having around its outside a depending radially resilient skirt 11 with a ridge 12 towards its lower outer edge engageable by a corresponding ridge 19 at the lower inner side of a skirt 16 integral with a flat lid 14 having a central hole 15, a finger boss 21 on a false bottom plate extending through the central hole and ridges 22, 23 around the false bottom plate engaging the edges of the box body when the lid is closed. To open the box, the boss 21 together with the false bottom plate is pushed down through the hole 15 while the lid 14 is simultaneously pulled up, separating the ridges 12, 19 on the body skirt 11 and the lid skirt 16. The false bottom plate 20 is then held within the lid skirt 16 away from the lid 14 by an intermediate internal ridge 18 round the lid skirt, Fig. 3 (not shown). The box may be made of glass, metal, plastics &c., and as shown, is of circular cross-section.
