Abstract

1408821 Container with snap-off cover SUPERFOS EMBALLAGE AS 2 March 1973 [7 March 1972] 10403/73 Heading B8T A container 3 with an outwardly projecting flange 4 has a flat cover 8 with a downwardly directed flange 11 having a shoulder 13. When the cover is pushed into snap-action engagement with the container the outer rim of the cover 8 is bent downwards for the shoulder 13 to engage the flange 11 and so force the cover and container together. In a further embodiment the outer rim (12), Fig. 2 (not shown), of the cover may be bent upwards in the unstressed state. The seal between the cover and container may be improved by providing the cover with flanged portions 9<SP>1</SP> and ribs (10), Fig. 2. The cover may have a reinforcing rib (15) and covered containers may be stacked one on the other.
