Abstract

859,967. Collapsible boxes. NO-NAIL BOXES Ltd. June 10, 1959 [June 12, 1958], No. 18865/58. Class 18. [Also in Group XXV] A collapsible box has side panels 5, 6 interconnected with end panels 7, 8 and a bottom panel 4 interconnected with the panel 5 by metal hinges extending along substantially the whole length of the adjoining edges of the panels, the hinges connecting the panels 5 and 8, 5 and 4, 6 and 7 having their respective axes or pins 27, 16 (not shown), 24 offset inwardly of the panels 5, 5, 4 respectively so that the panel 4 can be folded against the inner face of the panel 5 in the collapsed state. The panel 4 rests on inturned flanges 13 on metal reinforcing strips 9, 10. The hinge pin 27 is positioned so that in the collapsed state it lies on the side of the panel 4 remote from the panel 5. The hinges and reinforcing strips are secured to the box by teeth integral with them.
