Abstract

859,968. Collapsible boxes. NO-NAIL BOXES Ltd. June 10, 1959 [June 12, 1958], No. 18866/58. Class 18. A collapsible box has front and back panels 4, 5 respectively hinged to side panels 6, 7 and a bottom panel 8 hinged to the front panel 4 by metal hinges extending along substantially the whole lengths of the adjoining edges of the panels, the hinges connecting the panels 4 and 6, 5 and 7 respectively having their axes or pins 16 offset inwardly of the panels 4, 5 respectively and the hinge connecting panels 4 and 8 having its axes or pin 21 offset outwardly of the panel 4 against the outer face of which the panel 8 may be folded in the collapsed state. A top panel 8 may also be provided and panels 8 and 9 provided with metal reinforcing strips 23, 24 forming channels, such as 26, to receive the edges of the panels 4, 5, 6, 7. The hinges and reinforcing strips may be formed with integral teeth with which they are attached to the panels.
