Abstract

857,720. Boxes. REED CORRUGATED CASES Ltd. July 16, 1959 [May 19, 1958], No. 16055/58. Class 18. A cardboard or corrugated board box for dresses &c. has a gable-shaped top and means 14, for suspending clothes hangers, hung within the box from the ridge 12 of the gable top and extending parallel to it. The box is formed from the blank shown in Fig. 1 or from separate parts secured together. The back 3 and front 5 provide opposite sides of the gable top and the sides 2, 4 having triangular portions which form the gable ends 20. Panels 6 are adhered or stapled together to form the bottom. One side 15 of the suspension frame 14 which may be of cardboard, corrugated board, metal, a plastic or wood, Fig. 2, is held against the ridge 12 by folding and securing tabs 13 about it. Rear flaps 21 on each side are folded over on to themselves and interlocked with each other to lie against the side 16 of the gable top. Garments on hangers are hung from a rail 17 of the frame 14, front flaps 22a are folded over so that they will lie beneath the side 11 of the gable and flap 22b are passed between the rail 17 and the side 15 to restrain the hangers from sliding along the rail. The front 5 is closed and secured to a flap 7.
