857,064. Roofing light transmitting slabs. STAHL-UND WALZWERKE RASSELSTEIN/ANDERNACH A.G. Dec. 19, 1958, No. 41161/58. Class 20(3) A light transmitting roofing slab of lightweight concrete, e.g. of natural pumice aggregates, has a plurality of openings 2 e.g. arranged in rows and columns, closed at the outer face of the slab with prismatic glass plates 3 cast in position when the slab is formed in a mould. The cross-sectional area of each opening 2 increases from the outer face to the inner face of the slab. Reinforcing rods 8 may be used in the web structure. The slabs, resting, e.g. on a girder 9 of the roof framework, interengage by means of tongues and grooves 10, 11, the joint 12 being sealed with bitumen. The concrete mixture is of low water content and is tamped and has a sealing compound added thereto.
