Abstract

855,545. Grinding. ALLEMANN A.G., H. March 4, 1957 [March 2, 1956], No. 7141/57. Class 60. [Also in Group XXV] A locking device for securing together hinged members 1, 3 of an internal grinding appliance, is characterised by a clamping nut 5 which on its operation in conjunction with a locking member 7, automatically fastens the hinged members together as a result of a rotation of said nut, the nut consisting of two parts which are pressed under spring tension against thread flanks provided on the locking member. The members 1, 3 are locked together by the locking member 7 when it is rotated through a quarter of a turn. The member 7 passes through apertures in the members 1 and 3 and the rotation of the member 7 causes a locking bar 7<SP>1</SP> which extends radially from the member 7 to engage abutment surfaces formed in the aperture 9 in the member 3. When the locking bar 7<SP>1</SP> is engaged with the abutment surfaces the nut 5 can be further rotated to secure the locking member in position. The two parts of the nut 5 are prevented from relative rotation by a pin 8.
