566,437. Locking nuts. RULE, T. B. Aug. 11, 1943, No. 12961. [Class 89 (i)] Lock nuts, in which an upper part e has a conical recess to receive a slit coned extension b on the lower part, have the part e provided with an extension m that is slit to facilitate closing in to engage a groove c in the lower part, thus rendering the parts inseparable. The clearance j is greater than that k so that, in the event of the bolt being sufficiently undersize for the part l to be closed in onto the thread, the curved-in portions of the upper part jam radially and axially in the groove c. Specification 116,862, [Class 89 (i)], is referred to.
