Abstract

853,529. Ventilating systems. BISCHOF, M. Oct. 17, 1958 [Oct. 19, 1957; July 15, 1958], No. 33285/58. Class 137 A space ventilating and aerating system for a vehicle or a room comprises an air duct 2 (Fig. 1) with suction apertures 9 and air inlets 8 arranged alternately along the duct in the direction of air flow, with an angled air accelerator member 10 arranged above each suction aperture so that air is sucked from the space via 9, mixes with the fresh air supplied through an adjustable flap 4, the mixed air then entering the space through the inlets 8, the circulation process taking effect stepwise over the whole length of the duct. Due to the constriction of the duct cross section by the member 10 the fresh air flow is accelerated and causes the space air to be sucked through apertures 9 into the duct. To increase the injector effect an injector 22 whose inlet aperture is narrower than the width of the duct may be fitted at the discharge end of the duct, fed by an air scoop in the form of an adjustable flap 26 extending into the external air stream in the case of vehicles, or by a fan blast for rooms. The air duct behind the injector outlet is also constructed to form a nozzle, the air discharge being regulated by an adjustable flap 27 (Fig. 8). The mixed air is distributed in the vehicle through adjustable pipes 6, the fresh air being filtered at 20 and either precooled or preheated air may be used. For aerating a stationary body such as a room, a similar arrangement is used with the addition of a fan to supply the fresh air.
