Abstract
591,207. Ventilators. BRANDT, P., and THERMALAIR, Ltd. May 2, 1945, No. 11137. [Class 137] An air or gas diffuser imparting a rotary motion to the air stream comprises two or more concentric tubes a, b of prismatic form interconnected by vanes d having opposed edges which lie along the diagonals of the opposed plane faces of adjacent tubes. Each vane is bent as along a diagonal d<2> to enable the opposed edges with their flanges d' to be aligned with the tube face diagonals. The tubes and vanes may be mounted on a back plate e having apertures e<1> of a size gauged to regulate the quantity of air passing through the various divisions. A number of diffusers may be disposed in the roof of a drying or curing chamber for supplying conditioned air thereto ; the whole of the air withdrawn may be discharged to atmosphere or a part recirculated through the system.
