Class 17(2) In a sports shoe the upper 11 is lasted over an insole 10 and the space between its margins into which the margins of the insole do not protrude is filled by a filler sole 12. A moulded outsole 13 is placed directly over the filler sole 12 and is provided with thin marginal extensions 14 extending between the upper 11 and a foxing strip 17 which may also have an additional strip 15 which may be of a softer rubber mixture or of the same mixture but of less thickness. In a modified form the outsole 13 is provided with a step against which the turned in part of the foxing strip abuts forming a smooth continuation of the tread face of the sole.
