Abstract

1,057,638. Boots &c. SILVESTRE SEGARRA E HIJOS, S.A. Oct. 16, 1963 [Jan. 21, 1963], No. 40869/63. Heading A3B. A shoe is made by cementing an upper 1, including a toe stiffener 5, counter stiffener 6 (not shown) and a lining at the heel, to an insole 2, roughening the edge of the upper and cementing an edging strip 9 e.g. of crude rubber to the roughened portion, cementing a strip of crude rubber 11 to the base of the insole, applying adhesive to the base and attaching a sole and heel 12 under pressure and vulcanizing the whole to unite intimately the respective parts of the footwear. The sole and heel may be a single moulding of synthetic material and the: heel may have peripheral markings to simulate a conventional heel.
