Abstract

514,856. Boots &c. LOTUS, Ltd., and PERRY, E. S. May 17, 1938, No. 14715. [Class 17 (ii)] A shoe has a wel strip C of crepe rubber or other materia secured to the upper B and insole A by a sean D and then bent dowr and secured by adhesive to the edge of the crÛpe rubber outsole E which is attached to the insole A by adhesive. A leather bead strip G may be interposed between the welt strip and upper, and a reinforcing tape F is preferably provided on the welt strip so that the stitching D passes through it. In a modified construction, an intermediate sole of sponge rubber is inserted between the inner and outer soles. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 240,059 and 240,187, [both in Class 17 (ii)], 505,060, and U.S.A. Specification 2,046,444.
