Abstract
364,958. Waterproof boots &c . ARFEUILLERE, A., 33, Rue du Marechal Foch, Meulan, Seine-et-Oise, France. April 1, 1931, No. 9818. Convention date, April 2, 1930. [Class 17 (ii).] In the construction of a waterproof boot or shoe, the inturned edge la of a leather &c. upper 1 is secured to a leather &c. insole 2. A sole layer 4 of crepe rubber is then secured over the insole, and a crepe rubber covering 5 is glued to the upper with its margin 5a turned in and secured to the layer 4. The shoe is completed by sole layers 6, 7 of crepe rubber or leather, and an edge strip 8 of crepe rubber. Reinforcing layers of crepe rubber may be provided at the toe and heel, and the upper covering 5 may be coated with wood pulp and lined with fabric. Star-shaped pieces of leather 9, 10 may be let into the sole layers 6, 7 to support nails or studs 11.
