Abstract
844,428. Electromagnetic relays. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Oct. 27, 1958 [Nov. 14, 1957], No. 34326/58. Class 38 (5). An L-shaped armature is arranged with alternative pivotal axes so as to provide an alternative leverage ratio, i.e. ratio of the distance from the pivotal axis to the effective centre of the pole to the distance from the pivotal axis to a contact spring-actuating member. In Figs. 1 to 4 the armature 12 has two grooves 14, 14<SP>1</SP>. A member 13 can be secured by screws 15 to the yoke 19 in either of two positions whereby a flange 13<SP>1</SP> which forms the pivot edge for the armature engages either grooves 14 or 14<SP>1</SP>. For engagement with the groove 14 the member 13 is rotated through 180 degrees from the position shown. Ir either case the screws 15 are not tightened until the face of the armature 12 is parallel to the end of the core 11 when in the attracted position. The armature is held by a spring clip 18 engaging slots 23<SP>1</SP> in a projection 23 of the member 13, which passes through a hole 12<SP>1</SP> in the armature. The clip 18 also holds one end of the armature return spring 24. In Figs. 5, 6 and 8 the armature 32 has a flat under-surface 41 which rolls on wire members 42 which may fit in slots 39 or 40 in the yoke 33. The armature is held in position by a flat spring 35 and screws 37. The wire members 42 may be semi-circular or triangular in section.
