Abstract
872,789. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Sept. 5, 1958 [Sept. 6, 1957], No. 28588/58. Class 38 (5). The pivoted armature 2 is held against its knife-edge pivot 3 on the fixed yoke 1 by an assembly formed of a rigid part 10<SP>1</SP> and a resilient part 10. The part 10<SP>1</SP> is held on the yoke 1 by a screw 14 and located by engagement with a pin 16. Projections 18, 19 on the part 10<SP>1</SP> limit the sideways movement of the armature with reduced friction between the sides of the armature slot 17 and the projections since they engage in the vicinity of the pivotal axis. Projections 23 on the part 10 are held in slots 24 on the part 10<SP>1</SP> and the part 10 is bent at 135 degrees at X and 90 degrees at 7 so that the end 20 thereof engages the armature so as to urge it into engagement with the pivotal edge 3. On operation the end 20 of the part 10 moves without slipping or friction with the armature owing to the resilience of the limbs 21, 21<SP>1</SP> of the part 10 in a direction perpendicular to their plane.
