843,527. Frames. MOLLER, E., POUNDER, E. E., and REBBECK, Sir F. E. June 16, 1958, No. 19132/58. Class 7(2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A main bearing support in an internal combustion engine comprises a bearing unit 1 which is drawn upwards against abutment faces 12 on an engine frame 10 by vertical through-bolts 2, the unit being held laterally between vertical side faces 13 on the engine frame and being provided with a removable bearing cap 5. The unit 1 is also secured by lateral bolts 3. The ends 7 of the bolts 2 have flat sides which are received in corresponding slots in the frame, and ring nuts 8 on the bolts are screwed down on to abutment faces 9 on the upper ends of sleeve portions 11 of the frame.
