Abstract

841,579. Portable endless elevators. BLACKSTONE & CO. Ltd. Sept. 27, 1957 [Oct. 17, 1956], No. 31651/56. Class 78 (1). In a portable elevator comprising an endless band 1 carried by drums 2, 3 on a frame 4, the frame 4 is pivotally mounted at at its lower end on a strut 9 and is adjustably inclined by a pair of supporting members 11 slidable in guides 10 on the frame 4. The members 11 carry ground-engaging wheels 16. Raising and lowering of the frame 4 is effected by a hand winch 15 from the drum 14 of which ropes pass over pulleys at the upper ends of the members 11 to anchorages on the guides 10. The strut 9 is foldable into line with the frame 4 so that the lower end of the latter may rest directly on the ground.
