Abstract

839,285. Container closures. MALPAS, C. H. June 16, 1958 [Aug. 27, 1957], No. 19157/58. Class 125(3). A nozzle or drop-delivering device for bottles &c. has longitudinal grooves 18 to engage ribs 12 on the bottle neck 11 to prevent rotation and transverse ribs 19 to engage grooves 13 to prevent longitudinal movement the device being of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride and having external screwthreads 17 to receive a closure cap. A depending skirt 20 fits within the neck 11 of the bottle to form a seal. In a modification, Fig. 4, the nozzle has ribs 19, 26 and the bottleneck corresponding grooves. In a further modification, Fig. 5, the neck has ribs which engage grooves 18, 27 and an insert 30 of polystyrene with a small diameter opening 31 is fitted in passage 21. It is stated the construction of Fig. 1, may have a valve in passage 21 to limit flow of liquid.
