Class 39(2) An electric torch is provided with a dished reflective element 2 and an associated bulb housing 3 extending through the central region of and co-axial with the element 2, the end 4 of the housing 3 being closed and at least the side wall being transparent. The end wall 4 may be translucent and coloured or a separate coloured disc 5 may be cemented thereto. The reflective element 2 and housing 3 may be moulded as one unit or a separate reflectiv element e.g. pressed out of metal, may be used. The housing may have a screwthreaded base 6 to which a dished retaining member 17 of metal having a central aperture 18 for the base contact 19 of the bulb 10 is attached. The bulb 10 has a metal collar 9 bearing on a shoulder 8 of the housing. A spring 16 extending between the collar 9 and the member 17 serves to retain the bulb 10 in place and to provide. an electrical connection between the shell of the bulb 10 and the switch contact 23 of the torch when this is in operative position. The reflector and housing may be retained in the torch by a ring 11 which also secures the cover glass 13 in position. The ring 11 may be extended to form a vizor which is shaped to form an extension of the reflective surface and may be translucent and coloured.
