838,469. Fuel-tank caps. SACKVILLE Ltd., and LAWSON, E. A. Dec. 12, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1957], No. 38962/57. Class 125(3). [Also in Group XIII] Relates to a cap for the filling neck of a tank, the neck being of the kind having a rolled-over mouth 5 beneath which are inwardly-directed pegs 6, and the caps 7 is of the kind having a plug 8 insertable into the neck so that cam-like surfaces 9 engage beneath the pegs, by partial rotation of the cap to tighten the underside 10 of the cap against the mouth. According to the invention, the cap has a shallow recess 11 which receives a domed disc 12, which may provide embellishment or carry a maker's name. In Fig. 1, the edge of the disc is retained beneath an annular lip 13, but in further modifications, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), a spigot is attached to the disc and passes through the plug 8 to which it is secured by a split-pin. The plug is of nylon or similar plastic.
