Class 43 A button comprises a base plate 12 with a screw-threaded stem 13 which passes through a layer of material and through a hollow pressure plate 11 and screws into a threaded hole in a button head 10, between the base plate and pressure plate and between the pressure plate and button head are co-ooerating serrations or the like 14, 15 and 22, 21. The button head has a boss 20 terminating in a projecting lip 25 which snap engages beneath a shoulder at the end of a reduced portion 17 on the pressure plate.
