Abstract

798,734. Bolts, nuts and washers. SCHUTTE, C. E. Aug. 23, 1956, No. 25864/56. Class 89(1) A washer 34, for compensating for angles between the head or nut of a fastenershank 42 and a surface of a member through which the shank extends, comprises a semi-spherical body 36 with a flanged-edge 40. The body is formed with a slot 38 extending from the crown of the body toward the edge. A tongue 44 formed from the material removed to make the slot is positioned to abut the shank in all positions thereof. The nut or head of the shank may be part-spherically shaped for full engagement with the washer. In a modification, the tongue is replaced by a slotted flat disc secured to the edge 40.
