In an A.C. generator embodying semi - conductor crystal diode rectifiers e for converting the generated A.C. into D.C., those of one polarity and those of the other polarity are each interconnected by respective thin heatdissipating metal strips f so shaped and located as to be cooled by an air stream flowing through the generator when in operation. By such metal strips, the rectifiers are cooled. As shown, a 3-phase generator has six rectifiers split into two groups mounted on the interior of an end cover a having apertures c through which enters the air stream impelled by a fan, not shown, on the generator rotor.
