In a three-phase generator having a rectified output for a motor vehicle lighting set is mounted an easily removable prefabricated unit comprising six rectifiers 33a ... 35a, 33b . . . 35b arranged in three pairs between two D.C. busbar rails 40, 41 biased towards one another, the conductive connection between the rectifiers and bus-bars being produced by solderless contact pressure. The generator stator windings 23 ... 25 supply the rectifiers via leads 54 and respective strips 50 ... 52, Fig. 4 (not shown), assembled between the rectifier pairs location of the latter being provided by cylindrical projections 57 complementary with recesses 56 in the bus-bars and strips. The unit is inserted through a cooling air orifice 55 and supported by legs 46 &c. integral with the bus-bars. Three additional rectifiers 36 ... 38 are provided to supply a voltage regulator R and field winding 14 which is located on a shaft 10 between end plates 13 having projecting prongs 12. The bias is provided by spring washers 43 under the heads 42a of rivets which hold the bus-bars together.
