Abstract

1,005,930. Alternators. LICENTIA PATENTVORWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Sept. 19, 1962 [Sept. 21, 1961], No. 35605/62. Heading H2A. Semi-conductor rectifiers are mounted at the axis of the rotor of a dynamo-electric machine, e.g. a brushless alternator, to eliminate centrifual force. The rectifiers 9 are mounted on heat sinks 10 and secured by cooling fins 11 in a tubular housing 12 which is located in the hollow shaft of the alternator and also contains any safety and monitoring elements that may be used. Cooling air is passed along the hollow shaft to cool the rectifiers.
