Abstract

1,125,069. Dynamo-electric machines. MOTEURS DROUARD. 31 May, 1967 [7 June, 1966], No. 25098/67. Heading H2A. The stator stack of a rotary machine is secured between end-rings 6, 7 which are interconnected by hollow stays 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d which are welded to the end-rings and the stack, and constitute ventilation passages and mounting surfaces of the machine. The laminations may be shaped to form cooling fins or passages within the stays (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). The end-rings are inwardly channel-shaped to receive a centrifugally moulded compound (Fig. 12, not shown) which embraces the winding heads and dissipates heat. The passages provided by the stays may be subdivided to permit a closed circulation within the motor to the rotor. An axial flow through the stays is provided by a fan, and this cools the circulating air. Load devices may be carried on top of the motor.
