The link conveyer described in the parent Specification for conveying lamp bulbs from one point to another, in which each link contains a holder which frictionally grips the lamp cap, is now improved by a form of holder which comprises a radially distendible socket for gripping the lamp cap, each socket comprising arcuate sections embraced by a spring band. The conveyer link is shown in Fig. 2 and the lamp socket, which consists of arcuate sections 15a, 15h, 15c surrounded by spring band 16, Fig. 6. The socket is housed in an insulating case 20 which sits in a recess 2 in the top of the link. Strips 2a engage slots 19, 22 in the socket and case to hold them in position. Insulating blocks 10, 9 mounted beneath the link carry respectively contacts 13 and 12 while a pin 18 on the socket engages a hole in block 10 to locate the socket angularly and to make connection from the lamp base to contact 12. A pair of contacts 11 engage the end contacts on a bayonet-type lamp or the central connection of a screw cap lamp and connect them, through contacts 12 to rails beneath the conveyer for a testing supply. Contact 13 may be used either to earth the lamp base or as a connection for a screw cap lamp. Specifications 744,040 and 766,958 also are referred to.
