Abstract

1,158,853. Lampholders. F. CONSTEN. 1 March, 1968 [2 Nov., 1967], No. 10154/68. Heading H2E. A lampholder comprises a base 1 having openings 3, 4 for the contact pins of an incandescent lamp, and two recesses 6, 7 for accommodating pairs of contact springs 8, 9 and 10, 11 which are welded or soldered at one end to respective wire leads 20, 21, and rotated through 90 degrees before insertion into the recesses where they resiliently grip the lamp pins at the other end when clamping jaws 12, 13, which are also housed in recesses 6, 7, are tightened on to the springs 8, 10 by a device comprising a clamping plate 26 and a screw 17. Noses 24, 25 of clamping jaws 12, 13 contact the spread apart portions of springs 8 . . . 10 and are in alignment with noses 15, 14 formed in base 1. The lampholder may be screwed to a reflector.
