832,920. Cooling electric transformers; heating air or water. McLEAN, G. O. Jan. 21, 1958 [Jan. 24, 1957], No. 2528/57. Classes 64(1) and 64(3) The insulating medium in which an electric transformer is immersed is cooled in flowing over the evaporator 2 of a heat. pump circuit. For an oil cooled transformer. the evaporator may be located in the oil tank or, as shown, it may be located outside the tank. The heat pump circuit includes a compressor 3 and a condenser 4 over which air for space heating or water for cleansing purposes is passed and thereby heated.
