Abstract

784,592. Refrigerating. BRENTFORD ELECTRIC, Ltd. April 19, 1956 [June 3, 1955], No. 15977/55. Class 29 The invention relates to compression refrigeration apparatus of the kind on. which the evaporator 4 is in close heat exchange with an insulated container 1, while the compressor 3 and condenser 11 are disposed in a container 13 for water or other liquid. According to the present invention the evaporator 4 is disposed in a circuitous path about the side walls of the insulated container 1 and extends at its outlet into a supplementary evaporator C disposed in heat exchange with an outer casing 2 for the container 1. The container 1 is spaced from the casing 2 by insulation and the supplementary evaporator C is disposed adjacent the base 20 which is raised from the floor in order to allow free heat exchange between the evaporator and the ambient air. As shown, the compressor 3 is immersed in an oil tank in the liquid container 13, and the refrigerant circuit includes a liquid trap 15, drier 18 and expansion valve 5.
