Abstract

832,852. Electrostatic precipitation. KOPPERS CO. Inc. Oct. 30, 1957, No.33892/57. Class 39(1). Electrostatic precipitation apparatus for removing dust from gases consists of a number of groups of cylindrical precipitating chambers 5, 6, 7, each chamber having a central ionizing electrode 11 and a central pipe 14 for receiving the cleaned gas while the dirty gas passes through the annular passage 18 surrounding the central pipe. Clean gas is conducted into the main stack 29 from the mainifolds 26, 27, 28 and the dirty gases pass through the groups of chambers in series and then to a mechanical cleaner 33. A reflow pipe 36 may be provided.
