Abstract

764,871. Separation of dust from gases. KITTEL, W. Aug. 30, 1954, No. 25137/54. Class 8(2) [Also in Group XIII] Apparatus for separating dust from a gas stream comprises at least three stationary spaced superposed plates 11, Fig. 3, in series and each has a plurality of slots so oriented as to direct the issuing gas streams over the surface of the plates and also around the axis of the assembly; the sense of rotation of all streams from any one plate being the same. As shown in Fig. 4 the sense of rotation of the stream issuing from any one plate is opposite to that of an adjacent plate. In operation dustladen gas enters an inlet 9 of a casing 6 and after traversing the slotted plates 11 clean gas leaves through an outlet 12. In a modification the slotted plates comprises concentric cylinders 3, Fig. 1, (not shown).
