Abstract

739,974. Centrifugal separators. AKTIEBOLAGET B. A. HJORTH & CO. April 9, 1954 [April 11, 1953], No. 10575/54. Class 23. In a dust separator comprising a casing 2 having an inlet channel 7 and a gas outlet channel 9, and cyclones 1 mounted in rows on a stepped wall 3 of the casing, the inlet 4 and gas outlet 5 of each cyclone pass through adjacent strips of the wall to connect with the inlet and outlet channels. Dust laden gas entering the casing at 8 passes through the inlet chamber to ducts 13 supplying pairs of inlets. The dust outlets of the cyclones are connected to dust discharge tubes 19. In a modification (Fig. 5, not shown), two groups of cyclones are connected one at either side of a casing.
