Abstract

897,486. Centrifugal separators. PRATDANIELS (STROUD) Ltd. Oct. 31, 1960 [Nov. 24, 1959], No. 39875/59. Class 23. In a "straight-through" type cyclone, air discharged with the dust through tangential outlets 15 is returned to the cyclone downstream of the whirl producing vanes 11. The air leaves the dust collecting chamber 16 through a port 20 connected to a secondary separator (not shown) discharging air via ports 21, passages in the vanes, and an outlet 18 to the interior of the cyclone. Some of the air may be returned to the cyclone through ports 19. Air from the chamber 16 may be led to the outlet 18 by a bent pipe. The cyclone may form a cell of a multi-cell cyclone.
