Class 106(5) A free-piston dispenser for beer is connected at 7 to a pump or pressurized barrel and has a two-position plug valve 10 for directing the beer through passages 14 and 15 to one or other end of the transparent cylinder 2, the measured quantity of beer being delivered to a nozzle 19 past one or other of a pair of non-return valves 18. An air bleed valve in the inlet pipe comprises a floating ball 20 which is normally held by the beer against a seating 21 but drops away from the seating if sufficient air collects in the space 22. A lockable screw 5 adjusts the travel of the piston 6.
