829,020. High vacuum diffusion pumps. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 31, 1956 [Nov. 3, 1955], No. 33238/56. Class 71. The condensation chamber 7 of a high vacuum diffusion pump is insulated from the boiler 1 beneath by an evacuated chamber 13 surrounding the vapour chimney 2. As shown the chamber 13 is connected by a duct 14 to the suction inlet 9 of the pump. Condensed vapour e.g., mercury is returned through a duct 11 to the boiler 1.
