604,206. Vapour pumps. ALEXANDER, P., and WHILEY, C. April 21, 1945, No. 10086. [Class 71] In a vapour vacuum pump comprising a central tube 4 surrounded by a water-cooled outer tube 5 to form an annular pumping space therebetween and an annular jet 8 on the central tube for projecting vapour downwardly into the annular space, a water-cooled jacket 25 surrounds, without touching, the central tube 4 just below the jet 8 to prevent vapour particles from impinging on the hot tube 4. Specifications 597,335 and 604,205 are referred to.
