Abstract

828,405. Inductors. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 22, 1958 [May 25, 1957], No. 16470/58. Class 38 (2). A linearity control device for correcting the deflection current in a television receiver comprises a coil 1 and a core 11 relatively movable thereto and premagnetized by at least one permanent magnet 5, there being provided two annular magnets 5 and 7 which are radially magnetized in opposite senses and are arranged one on each side of the coil 1 and coaxially therewith are capable of embracing the core 11 with slight clearance. Control is effected by moving the core into or out of the second magnet 7, between the limiting positions 17 and 19, by means of the extension 13. The assembly may be embedded in a sleeve of polyester resin reinforced by glass fibres and the core may be locked in position by a split nylon bolt 15 screwed into a tapered threaded opening to grip the extension 13.
