Abstract
827,936. Elevated roadways: bridges. LUBBERT, E.. SCHULZ, E.. FINSTERWALDER, U., JECHT, R. and RUF, E. Oct. 31, 1957 [Oct. 31, 1956; Dec. 24. 1956], No. 33953/57. Classes 20(1) and 107 An elevated roadway is made up of square concrete sections each mounted on a central pillar from which diagonal riblike girders project, the thickness of the section and supporting girders increasing from the edges to the centre of the section. As shown, the square concrete slab 1 containing axial and transverse tensioned reinforcements, has strengthening portions 2 and ribs 4 both of which increase in thickness from the edge of the section towards the central supporting pillar 3<SP>1</SP> which may be solid or hollow as shown. In a modification, two independent rectangular sections are arranged side by side to accommodate streams of traffic in opposite directions, and each section, supported on a central pillar, increases in thickness from its edges to the centre; two supporting ribs extend from the central pillar parallel to the sides of the section.
